Note the size of the brushes beside the mini easel. And darned if I didn’t end up with paint on the easel, too. When I was painting this, I messed up the background with too much clutter, so I flipped it and the sea became the sky.

A study of eyes, sketched during the 4th season of LOST.

Eyes have always intimidated me, painting and sketching them, that is. This one was hard for me because I was afraid I would screw it up. It’s not a pretty painting, but I liked doing it.  All of these eyes were taken from the series LOST.  In there you will find Jin, Sun, Kate (bottom right with the hair across her cheek) , Richard, and of course Ben. Also in there is the warden that gave James the cash and the rest of the characters, most of them. I picked the ones that struck me the most and drew them on the canvas. Then I sprayed fixative and spent over two months outlining them and adding features to them. Last night I put on the shadows and highlights for the bony structures of the parts of the face that are included in each eye portion.
